What Barnsley can expect from Port Vale on Tuesday

On Tuesday 14th February Barnsley travel to Vale Park to play Port Vale in the Sky Bet League One. We asked “Ale and the Vale Podcast ” for their take on Port Vale`s season so far and who Barnsley need to look out for on Valentine’s Day.

How has your home form been this season? It has been very mixed in truth. We have suffered a number of injuries which never help toward stability and we have seen a lot of squad rotation too hence mixed home form.

Who are the stand out Vale players that Barnsley need to look out for? Funso Ojo. A player who is calm and composed on the ball and one who loves a tackle! He makes us tick in midfield and we certainly are stronger when he is in the side.

Ex-Barnsley manager David Flitcroft is currently director of football at Port Vale. What influence, if any, has he had on the side? Vale fans are very split on the work he does for the club. We did get promoted with him as director of football but we have missed the boat with a few players and failed to strengthen in areas of the squad which appear obvious to supporters.

How do Vale set up in games? Depending on who we have fit and available it is either a 3-4-3 or 3-5-2.

Give us your score prediction and where do you think Vale and Barnsley will finish the season? I`m going 1-1 on Tuesday night. Vale will finish somewhere around 17th with Barnsley finishing 5th and a crack at the playoffs.
