Callum Styles impressed in Barnsley`s pre-season friendly over Crewe on Saturday and received plaudits from his manager Neill Collins and the Reds fan base too.
Many people expected Styles to have moved on by now given his loan at Millwall during last season but with a suggested £2m release fee no club has yet submitted a bid for the Hungary international.
Styles has come in for some criticism from the Barnsley faithful given his poor performances during the 2021-22 season in which the Reds finished bottom of the Championship. Then the midfielder appeared set on a move away from Oakwell with no intention of playing League One football. Recent good performances in pre-season which have drawn praise from manager Collins have changed supporters' minds on Styles with many happy to see him return to the team.
We asked Reds fans their thoughts on Styles and whether he should be picked by Collins.

Ultimately, Barnsley pay Styles`s wages and therefore need to see a repayment on those wages, there's no point in him being sat in the stands. If Callum can knuckle down and play well then he is one of the best players in our squad and will improve the Reds no end. Good performances for the reds means Championship clubs come back in for him and maybe the club get the £2m which can be reinvested back into the squad.
He certainly won't get the move he craves if he sulks around and sits in the stands. A Callum Styles on form is a good player at this level and gives Collins options in midfield. Hopefully, we can keep him during the summer transfer window and get a few months out of him before clubs come knocking again in January.
