The EFL have announced the referee appointments for the upcoming Sky Bet Play Offs starting this weekend.
Durham born Andrew Kitchen will officiate the League One Semi Final 1st leg between Bolton Wanderers and Barnsley at the University of Bolton Stadium on Saturday 13th May 2023 kick off at 3pm.
This will be the first time Kitchen has refereed Barnsley. He is no stranger to officiating Bolton having done so twice this season already. As recently as 18th April, Kitchen officiated Bolton`s visit to Burton Albion in Sky Bet League One that ended 1-1. He also officiated their 1-4 home loss to Aston Villa in the EFL Cup back in August 2022. Back in November 2021, Kitchen officiated the EFL trophy game between Rochdale and Bolton which the Trotters won 3-0.
On Saturday Kitchen will referee his 101st fixture. In the previous 100 games he has issued 258 yellow cards and 5 straight red cards.
