Tim Robinson will referee the Sky Bet League One Play Off final at Wembley on Monday 29th May 2023.
The final will also see VAR in use with Tony Harrington being the video assistant referee.
The final is between South Yorkshire rivals Barnsley and Sheffield Wednesday. After 46 league games, Wednesday finished third on 96 points, 10 points and one place ahead of the Tykes.
Sheffield Wednesday booked their place at Wembley overturning a first leg four goal deficit against Peterborough to win on penalties in the second leg. Barnsley beat Bolton 2-1 on aggregate with Liam Kitching scoring the winning goal.
Robinson has officiated the Tykes on 14 previous occasions, the last being at Oakwell in March 2022 during a 1-1 draw with Fulham.
Robinson is no stranger to officiating games between the Tykes and the Owls. In March 2021, he refereed a Championship game at Oakwell in which the Owls won 2-1 and again in February 2020 when a 1-1 draw was played out at Oakwell.
Robinson made his referee debut on 14th December 2019 and predominantly officiates in the Championship, although he has tasted Premier League action twice this season.
In 41 games this season, Robinson has issued 163 yellow cards just under an average of 4 per game. He has also issued 7 yellow cards and awarded 6 penalties.
