The Posh (H) - Match Blog #56

It's the last game of the regular season at home to play-off chasing Peterborough United. Still nothing for the Reds to play for as we confirmed our 4th place finish last week.

After conceding 7 goals in our last 2 games I was hoping for improvements and a clean sheet. Three points would have been the icing on the cake today, but it wasn't meant to be. The positive momentum we so desperately wanted to take into the play-off games isn't on our side.

The Posh had to win and hope Derby lost at Hillsborough, and you could certainly see the boys in blue were well up for this one. In contrast to the enthusiasm of the visitors was a lacklustre Reds performance. We were very scrappy and sadly lacking intensity. The nature of the two goals we conceded was also disappointing.

So Peterborough got the win they needed, and Wendies did them a favour by beating the woeful Derby County.

Here's the moment the Posh fans got the news of the result coming out of Hillsborough:

For us, it's Bolton in the play-offs. The Trotters are a good side, and if Barnsley show up on Saturday with the same attitude they showed today, it certainly won't be a Jolly-Boys' outing for the Red Army faithfull. Fingers crossed though, let's stay positive, and let's hope the right Barnsley side show up at the University of Bolton Stadium in a few days time.

Enjoy the vlog! And see you all in the playoffs!
