Luke Thomas returns to action for Barnsley Under 21s

Luke Thomas continued his return from injury by starting for Barnsley Under 21`s against Wigan Athletic today at the Oakwell training ground.

This came after manager Michael Duff told reporters on Monday that Thomas had returned to full contact training with the rest of the squad. The Reds number 16 continues his recovery from a double leg fracture suffered in training back in early October.

Back then Thomas told the Barnsley FC website:

"Yeah, I'm feeling really good now. The first couple of weeks were very tough, especially with the pain and how it happened. It's been over a month now and I'm well on the mend now."
"It was a Friday morning, which is always the fun morning. We just do small-sided games and stuff like that. It was a freak accident. I was getting in at the back post which is probably the first time I've done it all season. I've just slid for the ball, scored a goal but I think my foot just got stuck in the ground.
"I knew it went straight away - I could hear the crack."

Thomas started the season in great form after a good pre-season starting 11 games, scoring once and assisting once.

Barnsley supporters will relish Thomas`s return given the current injuries to midfielders and the creativity he provides for the strikers.
