Fleetwood (H) - Match Blog #30

Back at Oakwell and looking to bounce back after dropping 2 vital points against Accrington on Boxing Day. Taking on an inconsistent Fleetwood team Barnsley created many chances in the first half, but same old story, we lacked that clinical edge and couldn't put them away. In the second half we started slowly again, but eventually we grabbed a goal through Jimmy Norwood. Later on Andersen brought down his man in the box, and Fleetwood slotted home their penalty to make it 1-1 with only their third shot on target. Towards the end of the game Norwood was brought down, the poor referee denied us a stone-wall penalty.

The referee was very poor throughout the game. At one point he halted the match for a few minutes to send off Michael Duff. Eventually when play resumed we got our corner which Robbie Cundy cooly headed home, ensuring we took all 3 points. Not the best performance of the season but another 3 points in bag, and another step in the right direction. Check out my vlog below:
