Fabio Jalo rescues Portugal Under 18s

Fabio Jalo rescued a draw for Portugal Under 18`s against Austria in an International friendly on Friday afternoon.

According to the Barnsley FC website, Jalo started on the substitutes bench with the Reds striker coming on with just nine minutes left and Portugal trailing by two goals.

Jalo took just seven minutes to score a goal and set up a frantic finish to the game.

Moments later, Jalo was instrumental in forcing an unlikely equaliser when Austrian full back, Matteo Schablas scored an own goal.

Jalo started the season in the Barnsley first team squad aged just 16 years old. He scored twice in the 4-2 victory at Doncaster in the EFL trophy.

Author's views:

Big things are expected of the 17 year old Jalo. He scores with regularity in the youth sides at Barnsley and in his brief appearances in the first team squad earlier this season showed his potential with a couple of goals.

A player who has little fear on the bigger stage and has an eye for goal. Hopefully he can score plenty of goals for the Tykes before an inevitable big move comes along.
