Crewe (H) - Match Blog #26

Back at Oakwell to take on Crewe Alexandra this afternoon, and the Reds came out 3:0 winners. The scoreline didn't flatter the home team as they were dominant from start to finish.

Jalo came on with enough time to do some damage for a change, but it didn't really go according to plan. They need to get the ball to his feet so he can terrorise defenders with his pace, but this afternoon his teammates didn't get the memo. Great goal and overall performance from Philips too. I must admit after his first couple of cameo appearances I thought he was crap, but he's really growing on me. He has something about him, he does things others wouldn't think of, a touch here, a cut-back there, he has star quality. Having said that, Herbie Kane was man of the match for my money. Controlled the game and seemed to be involved in everything.

Only one negative for me today....As soon as I heard the lineup for Barnsley I knew there could only be one winner, but I didn't put a bet on.

Anyway, fingers crossed for a good tie in the next round. Wouldn't mind beating Wendies away again....having said that, I'd probably prefer a game with a bit more atmosphere.

A special mention to the Crewe fans who never stopped singing from start to finish, They even clapped their team off at the end. TAKE NOTE MK DONS FANS!
